Meet the Newest Member of the Calmwater Team,
Ann Smith, Kayak and Wade Fishing Guide & Instructor
Ann Smith started fishing for bluegill at an early age with her
father at the family farm pond. Later as a teenager she chased rainbow trout in Wyoming's Shoshone river and after moving
to Louisiana she discovered saltwater fishing in Grand Isle. That was over thirty years ago and she has been wade fishing
the surf or kayak fishing ever since. Ann
shares her love of nature and fishing to offer a unique outdoor experience whether it's your first time in a kayak or you're
an accomplished angler. Ann will
work hard to accommodate your needs and to assure that you have a great time as well as a safe trip.
Calmwater Charters offers
customers a unique approach to coastal Louisiana inshore fishing near Grand Isle, Louisiana.
Our specialty is providing a memorable day on the water. Our trips are designed to provide an exciting angling
experience. In the Summer we will use our new ProKat 22' Catamaran for conventional bay boat fishing trips
for up to 4 anglers, or pack a few kayaks on board to transport you to scenic marsh islands that are otherwise unreachable
by paddling alone. At other times of the year, we will trailer our Native Water Craft Ultimate Kayaks to locations that enable
us to use the tides and wind to access marsh ponds otherwise unreachable by conventional water craft. When
the speckled trout move off the beaches, we will take you there to experience an enhanced version of wade fishing, where you
will learn stealthly kayak drifting techniques that will enable you to stay with the school of trout.
We fish year round in Grand Isle - and you can too!
